For the first time this summer, Arsene Wenger has agreed to a permanent transfer for one of his first team players.
The Arsenal manager has been very busy in the transfer market over the past week after seeing his depleted squad drop points in the first two games of the new season.
With the signings of Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez now confirmed, Wenger appears to be interested in balancing out his transfer business this summer by approving a couple of outgoing deals as well.
Despite Arsenal’s knack of being troubled by injuries and having to call upon fringe players as the season progresses in past, the Gunners have confidentially allowed useful options like Joel Campbell and Calum Chambers to leave on loan.
According to German outlet Bild, another Arsenal star is on his way out after Serge Gnabry passed his medical in Germany this morning. The 21-year-old will be presented as a Werder Bremen player later today.
The player’s father, Jean-Hermann Gnabry, revealed yesterday that he would have liked his son to remain at the Emirates stadium.
Speaking to radio station SWR, he said: “I would have preferred if had Serge come out on top at Arsenal. He’s still under contract until 2017, but has already left in his thoughts.”
