Real Madrid apparently want to sell James to Tottenham and not Arsenal as they eye up Christian Eriksen.
First up, Arsenal don’t have £70m to spend on a player. They don’t even have the €3m it would take to complete a loan deal for James who is struggling on loan at Bayern Munich.
Still, the links persist and it was even claimed in Spain this week that one of the reasons Sven Mislintat is leaving is because Unai Emery is unhappy with him for not doing all he could to land the Colombian.
The press in Spain now claim that Real Madrid, however, want James to go to Spurs as they try to get their hands on Christian Eriksen.
They reason that using James will lower whatever stupid price Daniel Levy is demanding for Eriksen who is under contract until 2020.
James, for his part, is said to want to return to Real Madrid to fight for his place next season after only completing one match in the Bundesliga this season.
Although part of this has been down to trouble with his ankle and knee ligaments, Bayern manager Niko Kovac is said to be far from convinced by the player who cost Real Madrid £67.5m in 2014 and the Germans £11.7m to loan for two seasons.
