Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey could return to the side in time for the club’s Europa League clash with Ostersunds.
The Welshman who scored a hat-trick for the Gunners against Everton a week ago was forced to sit out of the North London Derby after picking up a groin injury.
Ramsey had trained at London Colney ahead of the game, but Arsene Wenger revealed prior to kick-off that the Welshman wasn’t to be part of the match which the Gunners ultimately lost 1-0.
Wenger would certainly like the 27 year-old to be fit for the Round of 32 meeting. However, with Granit Xhaka, Mohamed Elneny and Jack Wilshere all available, there is no rush for Ramsey to be thrown into action.
“I will play the normal team because it is one of the opportunities we have especially because we don’t play in the FA Cup,” said the boss (via Football.london)
“There is no reason why I should rest players.”
Ramsey has less than 18 months to run on his current deal with Arsenal and has recently been tipped for a move to Liverpool.
The Gunners ace, who is approaching 10 years at the Emirates, is the club’s current longest serving player.
