Arsenal have lost several key players to the cold hands of injury this term but much is now needed to be done in other to keep the rest of the squad fit for the challenge ahead.
Report making the rounds have indicated that Arsenal star midfield Ismael Bennacer has been given a call-up to the African Cup of Nations by his country Algeria…
The 19-year-old was signed from French side Arles in 2015 and has made only one senior appearance for the Gunners in last season’s 3-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday in the League Cup.
The youngster was born his France but has chosen to play for his country of descent and was involved in Algeria’s demolition of Lesotho last month in a 6-0 win.
The midfielder was not part of Algeria’s initial squad but he now replaces Bologna midfielder Saphir Taider, who is ruled out of the tournament due to a knee injury.
The only other Arsenal player who Arsene Wenger has lost to the Africa Cup of Nations is Mohamed Elneny, who is expected a huge part in Egypt’s campaign.
The competition is expected to last for a month.
