Schalke youngster Julian Draxler has he is open to a move to the Premier League, but not until next summer. The highly rated midfielder has attracted interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City but insisted he would remain at Schalke for next season.
“I’m staying here because I see the chance of playing frequently.”
“I’m going to try and do that as much as possible and then we can reconsider in the new year.”
Draxler firmly has his feet on the ground and wants assurances of playing time. He is one of the star players at Schalke and became the club’s youngest player to reach 50 top flight appearances last season. Another year at this level would benefit him better than sitting on the bench for half of the season.
Thoughts on a transfer for the player looked completely lost when the club insisted all offers would be rejected last month but the player has opened the possibility of a move next year.
The 19 year old received big money offers from both Spain and England but opted to stay in Germany for another year.
“I don’t want to name any clubs but the countries are correct.”
“And I don’t think any country but these two would make sense for me anyhow.”
Chelsea and Real Madrid have been strongly linked with the midfielder and these comments will give them encouragement to make another bid in 12 months time but Arsenal, Manchester City and Barcelona will also be keeping tabs on the development of his future.
