Out of favour Arsenal striker, Lucas Perez looks set to return to former club Deportivo La Coruna, after just a year away in North London, according to a report from La Voz de Galicia as cited on Sport Witness.
Perez’s agent Rodrigo Fernández has become tired of Arsenal’s reluctance to lower their asking price for the forward, but according to reports he has held talks with Arsene Wenger over his clients future and plans are being put in place for his return to Deportivo.
Due to the Spanish clubs financial woes, several clauses are likely to be included in the deal – including a €15 million option to buy after his loan deal expires. This would allow Deportivo more time to gather the funds necessary to complete the transfer, while also keeping Perez off the wage bill at Arsenal.
Despite managing to accumulate so little playing time at Arsenal last season, Perez will however still leave the Emirates with an FA Cup winners medal, having played a pivotal role in wins at Southampton, Sutton United and Preston North-End – before seeing his teammates overcome Chelsea at Wembley, in the final.
