However, reports this morning claims Liverpool could be without six of their first team players due to injuries. The Merseyside club says it is bad news but for Arsenal, it could be a boost.
Goal keeper Loris Karius, French centre-back Mamadou Sakho, Young defender Joe Gomez, and Summer-signing Joel Matip are all sidelined with various injuries. However, Joel Matip is said to have recovered but will not be fit enough to be in contention for the game at the Emirates.
Midfielder Marko Grujic, who picked up a niggle during last weekend’s friendly games, return to training on Thursday and is likely to feature in the Klopp’s squad.
Versatile midfielder James Milner sustained a bruised heel during the pre-season win over Barcelona and is struggling to be fit for the season opener. Klopp said in his pre-match conference that it is “possible” that the 30-year-old could make the squad for the game.
The first-choice striker Daniel Sturridge is struggling with a hip injury. The England international missed last two games of pre-season due to his injury.
