MESUT OZIL and Alexis Sanchez have reportedly angered their Arsenal team-mates after the pair missed a club media activity day in September.
Ozil and Sanchez’s futures at Arsenal are in major doubt with both entering the final 12 months of their contract.
Negotiations between the players and the club have reached an impasse and it appears increasingly likely they will leave on a free transfer next summer unless they exit in the January transfer window.
Sanchez has cut a frustrated figure at times this season while Ozil has not played in Arsenal’s last two matches.
According to the Evening Standard, Arsenal’s first-team players were required to attend a number of activities on September 21 but Ozil and Sanchez failed to show up.
This was illustrated when Ozil and Sanchez were absent from a squad photograph where the players wore their new Arsenal suits.
Francis Coquelin was the only other omission from the image.
It is claimed both players were deemed to be ill and allowed to miss the event.
Although Sanchez was fit enough to start against West Brom four days later and Ozil came off the bench.
Some members of the first-team are said to be ‘irritated’ by the pair not taking part in enough off-the-field duties and feel it is another sign that they are likely to leave.
Reports this morning suggest Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is confident of convincing Ozil to join him at Old Trafford.
Sanchez continues to be linked with Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.
