Arsenal are among the riches clubs in the world and the stability and pedigree of Arsene Wenger makes the club one of the most attractive in England and the world.
Nonetheless, shocking reports this morning according to The Sun, claims despite Arsene Wenger’s plea, Guinea international and Red Bull Leipzig central midfielder Naby Keita snubbed Arsenal in favour of his present club.
The player drew staunch interest from various Premier League clubs including Liverpool, Manchester City and Southampton and Arsenal but he opted for a £12million with Red Bull Leipzig.
Keita, 21, revealed: “All those clubs got in touch with me about a move.
“I didn’t speak with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp but I had a phone conversation with Arsene Wenger, who spoke French to me.
“Yet I chose Leipzig as they have great potential and I didn’t yet want to join a big Champions League club.
“Leipzig’s sporting director Ralf Rangnick has treated me like a son. He came to France in 2014 to sign me for Salzburg and I trust him entirely.”
The report didn’t state whether Wenger made the call this summer but apparently, the player isn’t ready for first team football and will hardly fit into the first team of Arsenal.
