At this point, everyone would have gotten over the win over Chelsea and our attentions have now been shifted to the Champions League clash against Basel. Chelsea aren’t participating, they will sit back and enjoy more lessons from the Gunners tomorrow.
With a press conference scheduled for later, there are interesting updates on the team as they prepare for the game. There is currently no new injury news or setback but we bring an update of latest reports.
The good news for Arsenal fans is that there’s even more to come regarding our defensive options, as one of our long term injury absentees, Carl Jenkinson has now returned to full training.
He was laid off for up to 10months due to a knee injury but his return will present Wenger an option to Mathieu Debuchy as they battle for second team spot behind Hector Bellerin.
Ramsey picked up a hamstring injury in our Premier League opener against Liverpool. He should have returned but has had a set back and is expected to back after the international break.
French publication L’equipe have dispelled suggestions of a long-term absence and believe that the injury is not as bad as first feared. They expect the Frenchman to return to action in 15 days, which will be a big boost to the manager ahead of crucial fixtures in the Premier League and Champions League.
