Petr Cech missed Sunday’s win against Swansea with a minor groin problem

David Ospina could continue to deputise between the sticks for Thursday’s crunch clash against CSKA Moscow.

Petr Cech missed Sunday’s win against Swansea with a minor groin problem, and Arsene Wenger admits his first-choice keeper may not be ready in time for the Europa League quarter-final first leg.

Wenger shuffled his pack for the 3-0 victory against the Swans, with several key men rested ahead of this week’s Emirates clash, reports Football London.

Even though Cech has yet to appear between the sticks in the competition for the Gunners this season, it was thought that he might return to the side in the latter stages of the Europa L

However, speaking after yesterday’s late win, Wenger stated that Cech may not have fully recovered in time for Thursday.

“He’s better today,” said Wenger when speaking to the press. “He will go out for a little session maybe now.

“I still think he will be a little short for Thursday.”

With Cech more than likely to miss out, there are still question marks over whether or not Alexandre Lacazette will be handed a start following his return from injury.

“He’s still lacking a competitive edge a bit,” said the manager. “He has been out for two months, he worked hard.
