Keinan Davis’ former manager believes he has what it takes to play in the Premier League one day.

The 19-year-old is currently at Aston Villa and has been doing well under the management of Steve Bruce.

Villa spotted him playing for non-league Biggleswade Town, where he had been given a chance by former manager Dave Northfield.

Northfield believes that Davis isn’t ready for a step-up to Arsenal or Manchester United yet, but will be one day.

“I’d love to think he was [good enough]. He’s taking everything by storm. Is he good enough? Steve Bruce and his agents will tell you that!” he told the Daily Star.

“I hope so. He looks confident enough to make it. He’s different. Is he there yet? No, but he’s only 19.

“If he keeps his head down and working hard and listening, which I’m confident he is, I think the world’s his oyster.

“If you want to achieve something, you have to work hard. If he does that, it’s achievable for him. If the big boys are looking at him, then he’s doing something right.”

Davis has scored three goals in 16 appearances for Aston Villa this season.

He joined the Championship club in 2015 and worked his way up through the youth ranks.

This year has been first full year in the Villa first team, and already he has been linked with a big move to either Arsenal or Manchester United.

Such a move would be a huge step up that would surely come too early for someone only just starting to play regularly in the Championship.

There also isn’t a great deal of room for more young players in the Arsenal squad.

Davis’ story isn’t the first of its kind. However, it’s nonetheless impressive that he’s been able to make the step-up from non-league football to the professional level and it will be interesting to watch how his career develops from here.
