Arsenal are considering a move for Corinthians’ Maycon, according to The Sun.
The newspaper claim that the Gunners would have to meet Corinthians’ £9million demand for the 20-year-old and instantly loan him back to the club.
The Sun report that Arsenal have sent scouts to watch him several times, with Arsene Wenger being impressed by the reports he has read according to a source that spoke to the newspaper.
“He has been watched a fair amount for more than a year.
“They have been impressed and he has a promising future, he is not really a player for now.”
“There could be issues with getting him a visa, It would take a lot of work behind the scenes to get sorted.
“Arsenal have other priorities, so it could be one that happens in the summer, rather than now.”
The Brazilian central midfielder has made 38 league appearances for the Corinthians since breaking into the first-team in 2016.
Good move for Arsenal?
Yes. Arsenal have put in the time to thoroughly scout Maycon, and there’s no reason for them not to believe their findings.
The midfielder is versatile as he can play as a left midfielder, attacking midfielder, central midfielder and as a defensive midfielder.
This versatility would see him at the very least provide Wenger’s side with cover upon joining.

Likely to happen?
Corinthians’ £9million asking price for Maycon should be within Arsenal’s budget, and a bargain if the 20-year-old is able to fulfill his potential.
The deal should be an easy one to conclude in the summer, and the Gunners will probably be open to loaning the midfielder back to the Brazilian side as well.
Especially as The Sun’s source suggested that Arsenal could face visa issues with Maycon.
