BARCELONA forward Jose Arnaiz has threatened Ernesto Valverde with a move to the Premier League in January, according to reports in Spain.
Barcelona forward Jose Arnaiz has begun to turn heads at the Nou Camp after being handed an opportunity in the first team this season.
The 22-year-old saved Barca’s blushes in the Copa del Rey this week, scoring his third goal in the competition to earn them a valuable 1-1 draw at Celta Vigo.
However, Arnaiz’s opportunities in the first team have been few and far between since joining from Real Valladolid in the summer.
And Spanish outlet Diario Gol claim he has threatened Barca boss Ernesto Valverde with a January exit to the Premier League if things do not improve.
The report says Arsenal, Southampton and Tottenham are all tracking Arnaiz and are willing to match his £20million release clause.
It is said they will attempt to get him for less but if push comes to shove will not hesitate to match the buy-out clause to speed up negotiations.
Barcelona have reacted to Arnaiz’s demand of more game time by offering him the opportunity to go out on loan for the remainder of the season.
But this is unlikely to satisfy the young winger who wants to play alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez regularly or he will move to England.
He has been in fine form for Barca B in the Spanish second tier this term, scoring six times and providing four assists in 19 matches.
He is under contract at the Nou Camp until June 2021 having penned a deal with the Catalan club last summer.
Predominantly a left winger, Arnaiz has also operated in a more central role behind the striker and occasionally plays on the right flank.
