Former Bolton Wanderer’s midfielder Austin Jay-Jay Okocha, who is also the uncle of Arsenal star Alex Iwobi has revealed that he did not teach Iwobi the rainbow flick he displayed during Nigeria’s game against Algeria.
The World Cup 2018 qualifiers played in Uyo had Austin Okocha in attendance, and he was the cynosure of all eyes when his nephew pulled the skill he is well known for during his playing days.
While playing in the Premier League, Okoche was know for his skills and he made the headlines after using the rainbow flick to leave Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour in his wake at the corner flag.
Chants of Okocha rents the air after Iwobi replicated same skill and the former captain of Bolton Wanderers has spoken out about how his nephew learnt the skill.
“I didn’t teach him. Maybe he saw the one I did, but I’m sure he must have seen other players do it too. The boy is special and he is still developing. We are lucky to have him.”
