Since former Arsenal captain Robin van Persie, left the Emirates, Arsene Wenger have been in search of a proven quality goal scorer, and they must acquire one this summer if the hope to mount a title challenge next season. Oliver Giroud seem not to be the answer to Arsenal’s attack.
Leicester City and England international striker Jamie Vardy has been linked with a move to the Emirates but the chances of Valdy signing on are slim.
The Gunners are believed to have triggered a release clause in Jamie Vardy’s contract, and are believed to have tabled an offer worth £120,000-a-week deal. Reports from the King Power stadium has it that the England striker has been offered an improved deal by Leicester City to stop him from moving out of the King Power stadium.
Argentine International Gonzalo Higuain could be an option for the North London club, as the look to bulster the squad against next season. Born in France, Higuain attained Argentine citizenship in 2007, and now holds dual nationality.
The Napoli striker started his career with Argentine club River Plate, before a transfer to Real Madrid in 2007 for €12 million. While in Spain he won honours including three La Liga titles, and scored 107 goals in 190 league appearances.
He joined Napoli for €40 million in 2013, where he won the Coppa Italia during his first season. In the 2015–16 season he scored 36 league goals, winning the Capocannoniere title and equalling Gino Rossetti’s 87-year-old record for goals in an Italian top-flight season.
Since making his International debut in 2009, Higuaín has represented Argentina at two FIFA World Cups and as many Copa América tournaments, helping them to second place at the 2014 FIFA World Cupand the 2015 Copa América.
Vardy only had a single brilliant campaign so far, the Argentine International has had couple of good seasons in Spain and Italy, Arsenal fans will not be disappointed if they fail in their pursuit for Vardy and secure Higuain
