Arsenal’s management and that of England national team may be on collison course after Jack Wilshere reportedly sustained an injury while on international duty for the three Lions against the German machines on Tuesday.
According to the reports, there is growing anger at Arsenal over Wilshere’s participation in England’s defeat to Germany despite Wenger making it clear to England coaches that the young midfielder should only be played for one of the two friendly matches by England. However, instead of honouring the gentle man agreement, England manager Roy Hodgson played Wilshere in both matches. He was a starter in the match against Chile and was brough on as an early second half sub against Germany.
Wilshere has reportedly aggravated his ankle injury after taking a kick from Germany’s Sidney Sam and is now very likely to miss Arsenal’s premier league clash against Southampton on Saturday.
Wilshere’s injury will further increase Arsenal’s blotted injury list. The likes of Podolski, Walcott, Diaby and Chamberlain are already on the treatment table.
