Jack Wilshere Is Overhyped, Not Close To Been World Class – Claims Liverpool Legend

Jack Wilshere draw some critical comments for his display for England against Ukraine.

England managed a goalless draw to stay on top of their World Cup qualifying group, with two home games left to play but were slated for their performance with Wilshere in particular receiving a lot of criticism.

The youngster has been in and out of the Arsenal team at the start of the season and it still not match-fit which would be a good indication to his particularly poor performance. His man of the match display against Brazil earlier this year shows he has the talent to succeed in the international set up.

Former Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann was particularly critical of Wilshere on Twitter, despite admitting the player is talented.

‘England media hyped up Wilshere to be world class when he’s a talent, no more. I wonder what Mr.Cross and co got to say.’

QPR midfielder Joey Barton seemed to agree with Hamann regarding Wilshere but blamed Roy Hodgson for playing the 21-year old out of position rather than criticising his talent.

‘Wilshere has never been a number 10? Why does Roy ‘the tactical genius’ play him there? He’s a ball playing midfielder. Needs to face the play.’

Despite a surprising below-par performance from Wilshere, the midfielder is sure to remain key in Arsenal and England plans in the future with the player still to reach match-fitness where he then excels on the pitch.
