Wesley Sneijder’s agent has told a Spanish website Fichajes.net that his client was close to joining Arsenal in the just shut transfer window as Arsenal where very keen on acquiring his services from Turkish side Galatasaray but in the end, the player chose to continue plying his trade in the Turkish league.
Wenger has always been an admirer of Sneijder and he tried to sign the player before he left Real Madrid according to reports but was put off by the bogus wage demands of the player.
According to reports, Wenger tried to sign the player once again during the just concluded transfer window but was put off by the player insisting he still have unfinished business in Turkey.
However, Arsenal ended up signing Mesut Ozil in a club record transfer deal. The signing of Ozil will surely delight Arsenal fans more than if they had signed Sneijder as Ozil is younger and can only get better.
