The battle for Hellas Verona star Jorginho has upped a notch with the player prepared to quit the club in January.
Arsenal & Liverpool have both been strongly linked with the midfielder with Chelsea and Everton also entering the race as well as Serie A duo Juventus & Inter Milan.
The midfielder has impressed for Verona since their promotion to Serie A with the lowly club starting the season incredibly well. They are currently fifth, level on points with fourth placed Inter Milan and Jorginho has been one of their stars.
The 21 year old has progressed through the youth ranks at Verona and has played for the club 81 times, however he is currently in the best form if his life scoring five goals in only 10 games in his first season in Serie A. He had only scored five goals in the rest of his career before this season and has already double his career tally.
The midfielder was born in Brazil but moved to Italy when he was young and is able to represent both nations however Italy were the first to make contact with him and has played for Italy U21 once. He is still able to switch allegiance, as he is yet to play a competitive game at senior level.
Jorginho has been aware of alleged interest but is a very loyal player with his agent insisting Jorginho’s primary aim is to help Verona succeed.
“Right now his dream is to play in Europe with Hellas.”
However, his agent also opened the door for a possible move insisting Jorginho would be willing to leave the club if a team makes a move for him.
“I read of many links, but to be honest so far nobody has come forward with a concrete proposal to Verona.”
“He could leave in the summer if he continues to confirm himself at this level, even if it would be pleasing to see him, Martinho & Rafael still wearing the Gialloblu jersey if Verona qualified for the Europa League.
