According to reports,
“Arsene Wenger appears to be dealing with several injury worries ahead of the Premier League clash with Manchester United on Saturday.
Even though he was able to feature for the entire game as Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw by Tottenham Hotspur, an ankle injury which Hector Bellerin picked up in the affair with Mauricio Pochettino’s men means the Spaniard will now be ruled out of action for over a month.
Bellerin is likely to be on the sidelines with Santi Cazorla who is still struggling to recover from an achilles problem – a minor reocurrence of the injury which kept him out for much of last season.
Alexis Sanchez appears to have shrugged off a calf problem for now but there is no such good news for Lucas Perez who is still undergoing treatment at his former club Deportivo La Coruna for an ankle injury he sustained against Reading in the League Cup.
Danny Welbeck, Per Mertesacker and Chuba Akpom are the players who are definitely out until 2017.
Speaking recently about the fitness of Welbeck in particular, Wenger said: “He could be back in January. After that let’s not forget he was already out for a year, so we might have to be patient. To get him back to a really competitive level… it will certainly take two months of competition to get back to his best. No [he is not out running yet], he will be starting to run in two weeks.”
