We play Manchester United this weekend yet we have a handful of key players that have been ruled out of the game.
Arsene Wenger has never defeated Jose Mourinho in the Premier League and this game presents an opportunity for Wenger to better his record against Mourinho, whose team appears to be struggling.
We currently sit in a familiar fourth position on the Premier League log but just two points adrift of Liverpool at the top.
Let’s take a look at our possible injury concerns ahead of the game:
Cazorla has been ruled out of the game with an Achilles injury he picked up in our Champions League game against Ludogrets. It was reported that he had started training but he had a setback and there is no telling when he’ll return.
The youngster is suffering from an ankle ligament damage and has been ruled out for our remainder games of this month.
Alexis Sanchez: The Chilean suffered a hamstring injury while on national duty and was forced to miss the World Cup qualifier against Colombia. According to local reports in Chile, he has apparently recovered and has resumed training.
He is also set to feature for his national team in the qualifier against Uruguay on Tuesday. However, according to AFC Amden, it’s unlikely that he will start against United on Saturday.
Danny Welbeck and Per Mertesacker remain our long-term injury doubts, and I don’t expect to either of them in action this year.
