With the busy winter schedule almost upon us, Arsenal fans know that they will need to dig deep into their squad in order to keep their season alive.

The Gunners have been relatively lucky with injuries so far this campaign but there are still some fitness issues that continue to haunt Arsene Wenger’s team selections.

Santi Cazorla is the most notable long-term absentee but the likes of Shkodran Mustafi and Danny Welbeck have been forced to watch from the sidelines too recently.

Here is when we expect to see all of Arsenal’s injured contingent back in action again.

Danny Welbeck

Injury type: Hamstring strain

Out since: Limping off in the second half against Watford on October 14.

Expected return date: Manchester City (A), on November 5.

What Wenger said: “Welbeck has a groin problem, I think it will be two to three weeks before he is back. He will not be back before the international break.”

David Ospina

Injury type: Groin problem

Out since: Watford (A), October 14

Expected return date: Red Star Belgrade (H), on November 2.

What Wenger said: “Ospina is not very bad, he has a grade one [groin problem] so it’s just a couple of weeks. He has a chance to be available against Belgrade.”

Santi Cazorla

Injury type: Achilles

Out since: October 2016

Expected return date: January 2018

What Wenger said: “The first signs are positive, but still he has not played for one and a half years.

“He is not in full training yet, he needs a few games with the reserve team. So I think if all goes well, it will be after Christmas.”

Calum Chambers

Injury type: Hip.

Out since: The win against Doncaster on September 20.

Expected return date: Red Star Belgrade (H), November 2.

What Wenger said: “Chambers is back in full training.”

Shkodran Mustafi

Injury type: Groin injury.

Out since: Germany’s win against Azerbaijan on October 8.
