According to Sports Direct news, Arsenal may be signing Real Madrid’s goal keeper in January as the player is getting increasingly frustrated with the lack of regular first team action with Real Madrid. The media out let reports that although there are many clubs keen on signing the player, Arsenal have taken advantage of the business done with Real Madrid on Ozil to jump ahead of the queue.
Arsenal has just few days ago completed the 42.5 million pounds signing of Real Madrid’s Mesut Ozil and have while doing so sounded out Casillas as well who reportedly told the gunners he will only consider a move if his situation at Real Madrid does not improve.
Casillas had lost his first team spot to the then new signing Diego Lopez when Jose Mourinho was Real Madrid’s manager. Then it was reported that he is been witch hunted by Mourinho and many claimed it is just a matter of Mourinho leaving the Spanish capital club and Casillas will be reinstated back into the first team. However, Mourinho left but he still haven’t be reinstated by Carlo Ancelotti who took over from Mourinho.
The legendary keeper is yet to make a single appearance for the club this season and he has been advised by many to savage his national team career by considering moving away if his situation at Real Madrid does not improve.
Arsenal have been linked to several goal keepers in the last 2 windows. Although they managed to sign Viviano from Palermo, it is believed that Wenger sees Viviano as a mere stop gap and will be moving for Casillas in January as the club continue their search for a more reliable first choice goalkeeper.
