We have seen almost all the first team players of Arsenal played this season. To a reasonable extent, the first eleven for Arsenal picks itself. However, we are certain to see the team tweaked based on the opponent they will play. That is what you get when you have a large squad to select from.
There is currently competition in all the areas of the pitch for Arsenal and it will be difficult to get playing time as a youngster but for being very outstanding.
There were a lot of positives two days ago when Arsenal thumped Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup. We saw a lot of youngsters featured in the game. Prominent among them was Chuba Akpom, who did very well from the left wing even though he’s natural position is from the middle of attack.
The England Under-21 forward spent much of the match on the left flank and revealed to Arsenal Player after the match that he enjoyed the experience.
On playing on the left flank…
I think right now I’d play anywhere, I’d play in goal just to get minutes, just to be involved in the team. I didn’t mind playing on the wing today, I’ll play anywhere the boss wants me to play, but today it was still an attacking position and I just tried to be as much of a threat as I could.
on what the future holds…
Hopefully more games and more minutes. The feeling of just going out there with an Arsenal top on and just playing is the best feeling and that’s the feeling that I want to have, so I’ve just got to keep working hard in training and keep working hard to just get out there and get as many minutes as I can.
