After having signed Granit Xhaka, one would think Arsenal are done with trying to sign midfielders in this summer transfer window but if reports in both the French and the British media are anything to go by, Arsenal are still trying to bring in another midfielder and that midfielder could be Leicester City’s N’Golo Kante.
Kante is said to have rejected the offer of a new contract from Leicester City in favour of a move to Arsenal. Wenger and N’Golo Kante were said to have met for discussion in France which was reportedly successful and the player will now be joining Arsenal with the Gunners looking set to activate his £20 million release clause.
If the reports are true, which could be considering the intensity of the reports, it will mean the reports linking Chamberlain with a loan move to Southampton and West ham have some legs. After letting Arteta, Flamini and Rosicky leave the club, should Chamberlain also leave, Arsenal will be short in midfield and this is coupled with the rumours linking Ramsey with a move to Manchester City and Barca.
If Kante joins Arsenal, it will be interesting to see who Wenger plays in midfield from his different options. Wilshere, Ramsey ( if he stays ), Cazorla, Coquelin, Xhaka and Elnenny will have to fight for two midfield spots per match.
