Arsenal defender Krystian Bielik will not be signing on loan for Norwich City, according to Polish journalist Tomasz Cwiakala.
He claims that Bielik will not be joining the Canaries next season and will, instead, be fighting for his place at Arsenal.
This is despite Bielik saying that he was closing in on a move to Norwich from the Gunners.
“Mały zwrot akcji. Krystian Bielik na 99% NIE przejdzie na wypożyczenie do Norwich. Raczej nie spędzi jednak tej jesieni w Arsenalu.
Speaking to Polish outlet Laczy Nas Pilka last month, Bielik said this:
Probably I will play Norwich City on loan next, talks are close to finalization. Certainly, I hope that after I go back to Arsenal on a permanent basis I find myself in the first team and get a chance in the Premier League.
Bielik spent last season on loan to Championship side Birmingham City, racking up ten appearances in Blue after signing in January.
The 19-year-old has only played two senior matches for Arsenal since joining them from Legia Warsaw in 2014.
The centre-back has played just 18 senior games in his career to date.
