“I Am Over The Moon To Play Against Arsenal” – Claims Arsenal Legend Henry

Former Arsenal striker, Thierry Henry is looking forward with excitement to playing against the Arsenal as the Gunners announce a pre-season friendly against New York Red Bulls. The Gunners who last took a tour of the United States in 1989 announced that they would be playing a pre-season with Henry’s club.

The former Arsenal front man who scored 228 goals for the Gunners during his time at the club spoke to the club’s official site yesterday.

“I was obviously over the moon and excited [when I heard about the game],” Henry said. “Not really for me, but for the fans to be able to see Arsenal here and for the guys in the team. To be able to play against Arsenal doesn’t happen often and hopefully it’s going to be good day.

“Everybody knows how much I love Arsenal. When I found out we were going to have them here to play in New York, for some reason I was doubting it because Arsène was always the guy not wanting to go too far away from Europe until recently, when they’ve been going to Asia.”

This is one reunion many Arsenal fans have been looking forward to as the tour would provide the club and Henry to play on the same field. The last time Arsenal met the New York Red Bulls was in the Emirates Cup a couple of years back.

Titi (Henry) is one of Arsenal’s most loved ex players; and if there is one person the fans can’t seem to get enough of, then it had to be him. The player who was part of the famous Arsenal team that went unbeaten for an entire season on their way to winning the League in the 2003/2004 season; also used the occasion of the interview to talk about the facilities that will be made available to the Gunners when they come.

“First of all us having better training facilities now, they know that they can use them,” he said. “They also know that they’re going to play and try to prepare for their season against a competitive team,” Henry said.

This is one pre-season friendly every fan of the club will be looking forward to.
