Arsenal have been handed a major in the creative midfield area with the return of star player.
ARSENAL midfielder Ismael Bennacer is on his way home after Algeria were knocked out of the African Cup of Nations.
But the youngster didn’t play a single minute of his side’s three games.
Algeria failed to win any of their three matches and finished third in Group B with two points.
They started off with a 2-2 draw against Zimbabwe before losing 2-1 against Tunisia.
They had to win their last game against Senegal yesterday and hope other results went their way, but they drew 2-2 despite a brace from Leicester’s Islam Slimani.
Slimani and Foxes team-mate Riyad Mahrez will now also be coming back to England.
Bennacer sat on the bench for the entirety of the tournament.
He will now return to Arsenal, where he is a regular in their under-23 side.
The 19-year-old has one appearance for the Gunners, in the EFL Cup in 2015.
