Arsenal fans are yet in celebratory mood as the Gunners thrashed Chelsea yesterday in the Premier League.
Arsenal star, Theo Walcott is in the claim that Arsenal were a better team yesterday because of their team effort which aided in overpowering The Blues.
For Walcott, who is currently the longest serving Arsenal players, it was his 350th appearances for the Gunners, one which would be remembered for his clinical finish at the end of an excellent passing move orchestrated by Alex Iwobi.
As quoted by FourFourTwo, Walcott told BT Sport the following in a post-match press interview:
“We worked really hard in the week. We obviously know what’s happened in the past but it’s all about now. This team is bright and young and has a lot more experience in these games now.”
“Everyone is focused and you could see that – 11 men who wanted to win this more than the other team.”
Walcott was found tracking back during the game and his defensive input was as good as his attacking input.
Walcott will be hoping for similar individual performances like his display against Chelsea, with competition for places continuing to crank up as strength in depth continues to improve.
