ARSENAL striker Alexandre Lacazette is better in the penalty area than new team-mate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, says ESPN FC pundit Brian McBride.
But McBride believes Aubameyang is a better all-round player than Lacazette.
Arsenal signed Aubameyang in January and he has since started the last two Premier League games.
Lacazette has had to put up with a place on the bench and is now on a run of one goal in 13 matches following the north London derby loss to Tottenham yesterday.
McBride believes Aubameyang, who arrived from Borussia Dortmund for a club-record fee of £60million, is just the type of striker Arsenal needed.
The former Fulham striker says Aubameyang is a perfect replacement for Olivier Giroud, who joined Chelsea last month, because Giroud was not suited to Arsenal’s style of play.
“I think Lacazette is a much better player inside the penalty area for opportunities,” McBride said.
“I think Aubameyang is very good at finding space himself, making runs, creating openings for himself.
“I’d say Aubameyang is a very good finisher. I think he’s better than Lacazette.
