Arsene Wenger admits he has been impressed with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s “quality of movement” in the Arsenal team.
The Gunners signed the Borussia Dortmund striker in a club record £56m deal on transfer deadline day.
Aubameyang made his Arsenal debut in the north London side’s 5-1 win against Everton in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
The January signing scored Arsenal’s fourth goal in the rout at the Emirates Stadium with a delicate hoisted finish to open his Premier League account.
The 28-year-old striker arrives in England with a reputation as one of Europe’s best strikers following a sensational return of 141 goals in 213 appearances in all competitions.
Wenger heaped praise on the Gabon international following his impressive start to his Arsenal career.
“The quality of his movement, I must say [impressed me],” Wenger told Arsenal’s website.
“When you analyse well where he goes and when he goes, it’s always what you want from a striker, and even then I believe he is not completely 100 per cent fit physically.
“But the quality of his movement and the quality of his finishing was very good.”
Arsenal’s 5-1 win against Everton was a timely boost following a 3-1 loss to Premier League strugglers Swansea City in South Wales last week.
The Gunners were 2-1 winners against defending champions Chelsea in the second leg of their League Cup semi-final last month.
Arsenal will take on Premier League leaders Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley.
The north London side have won the English top flight crown since 2003-04 when Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira inspired the Gunners to glory
