Alex Iwobi believes Arsenal can save their season and still finish in the top four.
Last season saw Arsenal finished outside the top four for the first time under Arsene Wenger’s reign and the Gunners appear to have fallen even further behind their rivals this term.
The north Londoners are seven points adrift of Tottenham who occupy fourth.
Arsenal did take a giant stride towards the last 16 of Europe’s second-tier competition with a comfortable 3-0 win here in Ostersund last night.
A Europa League triumph win would ensure Arsenal of a swift return to Champions League football. However, Iwobi says the Gunners have not given up domestically and can still rescue a troubled campaign to date.
As reported by the Standard, when asked if the players believed Europa League glory was the most likely route back to the Champions League, the midfielder replied: “No, we have to do our best in both competitions. That’s what we are trying to do: get top four and also win this competition. That’s the aim.”
