The Chelsea legend was impressed with Arsenal team’s work-rate in the FA Cup final on Saturday evening..
Frank Lampard has admitted that Arsenal’s work-rate off the ball was the most impressive aspect of their FA Cup final performance.
Arsene Wenger’s side caused an upset at Wembley on Saturday evening thanks to a 2-1 win against Premier League champions Chelsea.
The Blues were favourites to win the final after securing their second title in three seasons with two games to spare earlier this month.
Arsenal, on the other hand, finished in fifth spot and outside the Champions League places after a difficult season under Wenger.
The 67-year-old was missing his first-choice centre-halves Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi for the clash against the champions.
However, Arsenal managed to out battle their bitter London rivals to win a third FA Cup crown in four seasons.
Former Chelsea midfielder Lampard was particularly impressed with the north London side’s uncharacteristic work-rate in the final at Wembley.
“The really impressive thing about the Arsenal performance was off the ball,” Lampard told BBC Sport.
“We all know they’ve got quality on the ball but off the ball, the way they pressed… they looked organised.”
He added: The question is, can they reproduce that week in, week out next season?”
Wenger has now won the FA Cup seven times since taking over the reins at Arsenal in 1996, making him the most successful manager in the competition.
