After heavily being involved in the summer transfer market, Arsenal are now looking to secure the services of the star players.
However, Santi Cazorla has revealed that he is yet to be offered an improved contract by Arsenal but said he would be delighted to sign a new deal with the club.
There are reports that Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Hector Bellerin are on the verge of putting pen to paper for improved deals. It would be disappointing if Arsenal are not looking to keep Santi beyond his existing contract.
Speaking about his contract situation to Cadena Ser, Cazorla said:
“I honestly do not know what I’ll do if I do not continue at Arsenal. I do not know if I ‘ll go to Spain or another league, it’s a little early.
“When the day comes I will take the decision. Today it is difficult. There was talk of a move to Atletico but they were just rumours.
Although he’s 31, Cazorla’s absence was felt last term when he was sidelined with injury for the most part of the season. He simply has the legs that aids our team to play the fluid passing game.
He added that he might end up in Spain if he is not offered a contract.
“If Arsenal do not give me a new contract option, I would have other options, either in Spain or in another league, but today it is still something I have not even considered.
“I just have one more year of contract and I have no news from the club.”
