Thierry Henry wants to see the new manager at Arsenal given time to make an impact at The Emirates.

The Gunners are on the lookout for their next boss after Arsene Wenger called time on his 22-year reign with the north London club this season.

Wenger’s final game in charge for the Gunners was the 1-0 win over Huddersfield Town in the Premier League on Sunday, as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the only goal of the game.

Attentions will now inevitably turn to which manager Arsenal will look to appoint as their new boss this summer.

And Arsenal legend Henry feels that the Gunners do have the foundations of a solid team, but he wants the new man in charge to be given time to make an impact at the north London club.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports on Sunday, Henry said: “Whoever is going to take over is going to need to have time.

“I think you can work with the team that’s there. It’s going to be a bit difficult because it’s a group who have been suffering recently, especially in the league.

“You saw at home that they can play against anyone and match anyone, but away from home they couldn’t.

“There is something there but consistency wasn’t there. You need to give the new manager time.”

It was another disappointing season for Arsenal in the Premier League as they finished in sixth place in the table and missed out on a spot in the Champions league for next season for the second year running.

The Gunners are thought to be set to announce who their new manager will be before the start of the World Cup in Russia next month.
