Borussia Dortmund are keen to keep hold of Henrikh Mkhitaryan but according to reports, Arsenal are ready to table a bid of £35 million to Dortmund in a bid to convince the Bundesliga said to sell the player rather than lose him on a free transfer in 2017.
Arsenal are said to have been monitoring the situation of the Armenia international and after he reportedly rejected a contract extension offer from Dortmund. Chelsea have also been linked with the signing of the player but Arsenal believe they can beat the Blues to the signing of the player.
With Chelsea not in the Champions League next season, Arsenal have a strong chance of signing the player. There is no way Mkhitaryan will leave Dortmund and go to a club where he will not be sure of playing Champions league football.
With Theo Walcott once again disappoint Arsenal fans last season, Mkhitaryan will certainly be an upgrade on the Englishman. In 43 games last season, Mkhitaryan scored 19 goals and created 24 assists. With such a player playing on the wing for Arsenal last season, we would probably have won the league.
Reportedly on a £95,000 a week wage, the Armenian’s wage demands is certainly not going to be a problem for Arsenal.
