The winter transfer window might be just under three months away from officially opening, but that hasn’t stopped Arsenal being linked with midfield reinforcements.
Following reports that the Gunners’ contract offer for Aaron Ramsey has been withdrawn, the Wales international is expected to depart the Emirates Stadium either in January or next summer.
If he leaves in the upcoming transfer window then the north London outfit will receive a fee, but he could leave for free at the end of the season as his contract expires in June.
Whatever happens Ramsey will need replacing and reports in Portugal claim Porto captain Hector Herrera has been identified as a possible target.
The Mexico international is out of contract at Estádio do Dragão next summer, but will be free to talk to foreign clubs from January 1 – unless he signs an extension – and Arsenal are one of many teams being linked with his signature.
Those links have intensified this week following claims by A Bola that the north London outfit had an official present for Porto’s 1-0 win over Galatasaray in the Champions League on Wednesday night
In other Arsenal transfer news, it seems they will have to fork out €30million if they are intent on signing Nicolas Pepe from Ligue 1 side Lille, according to reports.
The winger has made a big impression at the French club since moving from Angers in 2017, thus seeing a number of Europe’s biggest clubs keep tabs on his progress.
Spanish giants Barcelona are believed to be keen on a deal for the 23-year-old, while Arsenal and Everton have been mentioned about making a possible move for Pepe.
