The fans who are worried about the state of the club’s transfer dilemma ahead of the kickoff against Liverpool should shield their swords, as Arsenal’s effort to sign a Leicester City has proved abortive.
Despite all the reports of Mahrez wanting a move to Arsenal, and the Arsenal’s offer for the player, Claudio Raniery has once again dismissed the possibility of the player moving to North London with Arsenal.
The Leicester winger scored 17 goals in the last season’s incredible title win, earning himself the PFA Player of the Year award for his efforts ahead of teammate Jamie Vardy, who put pen to paper on a new long-term deal at the King Power Stadium this summer.
He was linked with a 30million Pounds move to Arsenal but apparently the Gunners are yet to make any offer for the player.
“Could I know who is interested in Mahrez? No [approaches]. Riyad stays with us,” the Leicester manager said.
“I say ‘keep going, we have to improve, also you have to improve your experience by playing in the Champions League, it is totally different, European football is different from the Premier League and it is important to be focused on the new job’.
“Yes [convinced Mahrez wants to stay] but sometimes the manager says one thing and then does another thing.”
This must have come as a huge blow for Arsenal who are looking to bolster their attack.
