Arsenal have received a welcoming news on the injury front and the Gunners faithful will sure be excited about this.
Arséne Wenger has confirmed that Gabriel Paulista is recuperating well and that the defender could make a return to action a little earlier than schedule.
Gabriel sustained the injury prior to the Premier League campaign and it has kept him out of action for Arsenal so far this season. Injury to Per Mertesacker has also reduced Wenger’s options in defence, but Shkodran Mustafi’s addition will certainly be a boost.
“He’s progressing very well. He’s ahead of schedule. We said six to eight weeks and we think it could be six”, Wenger told the press before his side’s defeat of Watford.
The news will be another boost for Arsenal and their fans, who have seen their darling team bring in two new signings, bag three goals and cap a dominant display to secure their first three points of the campaign. Fans would have expected it to continue soon, but they have to wait till September 10, due to next weekend’s international break.
Meanwhile, by the time Gabriel is back to action he could find it difficult to break into the team, as Mustafi is likely to be Laurent Koscielny’s regular centre-back partner.
