Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and midfielder Aaron Ramsey have been named as the Barclays premier league manager of the month and player of the month respectively. Arsenal are currently on a run of 6 unbeaten games in the league and 11 unbeaten games in all competition after coming back from a shocking opening day defeat at home to Aston Villa.
Arsenal started the month of September with a defeat of arch rivals Tottenham hotspurs in the North London derby. The gunners went on to record more victories in the league beating the likes of Sunderland ( 3-1 ), Stoke ( 3-1 ) and Swansea City ( 2-1 ).
Arsenal began the month on 12th on the EPL table with just 3 points from the first 2 games but ended the month of September with a total of 15 points having won all their matches in the same month.
Ramsey was very instrumental to Arsenal’s success in the same month scoring 4 times in the league. He scored a double against Sunderland in a 3-1 win and also got Arsenal the winning goal against Swansea.
Ramsey beat off competition from the likes of Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge and Manchester City’s Sergio Aguerro to emerge as the winner of the Barclay’s premier league player of the month.
