Arsenal and Liverpool FC have been handed a boost in their reported pursuits of Thomas Lemar from Monaco, according to reports in France.
French newspaper L’Equipe, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the 22-year-old attacker is now “determined” to try and complete a move to the Premier League in the summer.
The French attacker was heavily linked with a move to England in the summer transfer window last year, with both Arsenal and Liverpool FC touted as possible destinations.
The same report says Lemar is determined to secure a transfer to the Premier League at the end of the season after he rejected the offer of a “bumper” new contract.
It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will still hold an interest in signing Lemar this summer after they bolstered their attacking options with the transfers of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang last month.
Liverpool FC could well be on the lookout for attacking reinforcements in the summer after they agreed to sell Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona at the start of the January transfer window.
Lemar, who is under contract until 2020, has scored two goals and made five assists in 16 Ligue 1 games for Monaco so far this season.
