There appears to be all good news for Arsenal fans in the transfer market. First, the club has gotten for us Granit Xhaka and from all indication, it is a matter of when Alvaro Morata will become a Gunner and not if he will become a Gunner. The deal judging by various reports in the media seems imminent.
Aside incomings, there seems to be some good news on outgoings as well. This is as reports from France today claim Olympic Lyon are keen on taking Mathieu Debuchy off Arsenal. The Frenchman who was signed by Arsenal from Newcastle United spent last season on loan to Bordeaux and due to how successful he was during the loan, he is now the subject of interest from both West Ham and Lyon.
The right back who reportedly earns £80,000 a week lost his place in Arsenal’s first team to Hector Bellerin when he was injured and has shown mental weakness that has ensured he remains a second choice behind the young Spaniard. Instead of working hard and regaining his form, Debuchy chose to criticise Wenger and from all indication, there is no way back for him at the club.
This is good news in my opinion. It is good news because I see no reason why we should keep Debuchy at the club as he doesn’t seem ready to act as back up nor ready to win back his position. There is simply no reason to keep a player who earns £80,000 a week but can’t be asked to put up a show that justifies the amount he earns.
