Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been told to go out and purchase Atletico Madrid’s 24 million pounds rated striker Diego Costa once the January transfer window has been declared open. According to reports, Arsenal manager will be in the market for a new striker in the January transfer window after failing to acquire the signature of any striker in the just concluded transfer window. Wenger pursued the signing of Jovetic, Higuain, Suarez, Rooney and Demba Ba in the last transfer window but failed in his attempt to sign any of them. The failure to acquire any striker in January has left the gunners with only Olivier Giroud as the only experienced senior striker at the club.
Wenger has now been advised by former Arsenal star Adrian James Clarke to go out and sign Diego Costa who only just last Saturday buried Real Madrid in the Madrid derby. Talking to talksport, Adrian Clarke said :
“There aren’t that many star centre-forwards that are available at the moment,” he added. “Atletico Madrid’s Diego Costa, who scored the winner in the Madrid derby, would be one.”
Judging by the number of times I have seen Diego Costa play, I believe he is a quality striker and should we decide not to pursue the signing of Rooney or Luis Suarez in January who to me are bigger and better options, I believe Costa will be a good signing. The most important thing here is, we must ensure we sign a striker in January and it has to be someone who is head and shoulders better than Olivier Giroud.
