Arsene Wenger is looking to boost his back line in the upcoming winter transfer window and a certain Juventus star is in the lime light.
According to report from Italian outlets Sky Italia, CalcioMercato and TMW, the report from these outlets claimed Arsenal have moved in with an important offer of 40 million euros ($47million) to sign Moroccan international Mehdi Benatia form the Italian champions.
However, it is reported that Juventus rejected that offer and they do not want to sell the former Bayern Munich star.
The North London club perhaps made a move for Benatia keeping in mind that Benatia has rarely started for the Serie A side this season. He has only registered 8 league starts and netted 2 goals.
The 30-year-old is an experienced defender who has won the Italian and German league titles and has the quality to improve the Gunners’ shaky back line.
At the moment, Koscielny and Mustafi are the first choice central defenders at the Emirates but Wenger does lack quality and depth in the back line and must sign a new center half next month.
