Having been linked with both Liverpool and The Arsenal, the French international Clement Grenier did indeed confirm expressed interests from the English clubs, but wouldn’t go as far as divulging into talk of him moving from the national record-breaking seven times French league champions Lyon to England.
In what one might term as a show of Loyalty and respect for his current club, the 22 year old Midfielder refused to give any details on what might’ve transpired from the contacts from interested clubs.
With his contract set to run up to the end of the 2016 season, Grenier is reported to have told this to the media:
“Arsenal and Liverpool? There was contact. After that, it remains personal” The Frenchman prudently stated.
“I am in Lyon, I’m glad to be here for the rest of the season and we will see later.
“My goal is to be as efficient as possible with Lyon, to fulfill the objective of the club as well as my personal goals”
Should the rumors hold any substance, one can be almost certain that Arsenal have the upper hand in influencing the young man’s future seeing how guarded he is with information about his future and given the club’s strictness in keeping any transfer dealings as secretive as possible.
