ARSENAL face a serious battle to convince Monaco to sell Thomas Lemar.
That’s according to The Telegraph’s Jason Burt, who claims the French champions insist the 21-year-old will not be on the move this summer.
Lemar played a key role as Leonardo Jardim’s men wrestled the Ligue 1 trophy away from Paris St-Germain last season.
And his form at the Stade Louis II has seen an off-season switch heavily touted, with Arsenalreportedly desperate to secure his services.
The Sun reckon Arsene Wenger is set to step up his efforts to bring Lemar to England, with a host of fringe players to be sold to fund a raid.
However, Burt has revealed on Twitter that Monaco are determined to keep hold of the midfielder.
He wrote: “Monaco position on Thomas Lemar remains unchanged. They will not sell this window.
“So maybe then Arsenal will have to offer crazy money.”
Lemar is not the only Monaco star known to be on Wenger’s radar.
The Arsenal gaffer has admitted he’s keen on teen sensation Kylian Mbappe.
The Gunners would likely face a fight with La Liga giants Real Madrid if they pursued a deal for the fleet-footed forward though.
