If there was any hope left that Arsenal could still sign Aleksandre Lacazette from Lyon, the same hope has now been dashed by the recent comment of the Les Gones Coach Bruno Genesio, who asserted that the player will not be sold this season.
Lacazette has been on the radar of Arsenal since last summer and we had an offer for him rebuffed earlier in this summer.
The player himself had previously given Arsenal supporters reason for optimism after informing Canal Football Club that “there are offers that can’t be refused” and he’d “like to not refuse them.”
However, Lacazette’s current boss, Bruno Genesio, has now spoken out in an apparent bid to quash any hope of a move to the Emirates by claiming that:
“There is no uncertainty with regards to Aleksandre Lacazette…He is and he will stay at Lyon.” (via Get French Football).
While Olivier Giroud impressed with his performances for France at the Euros, major doubts still surround his ability to lead the line for a top European club, and consequently Wenger has been sniffing around this summer for extra firepower upfront.
Arsenal are desperately in need of a striker as we have only Oliver Giroud as the out-and-out attacker.
