Arsenal are lining up a bid close to £50m to sign Thomas Lemar from Monaco, according to reports in the British media.
Website football.london is reporting that the Gunners are set to return with a third offer for the 21-year-old France international after having had two bids for the 21-year-old rejected by Monaco.
The same report claims that Arsenal’s second bid for Lemar was worth around £40m but that the Gunners are now lining up a third and improved bid for the midfielder.
The story also says that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is “pushing hard” to try and make Lemar the Gunners’ third signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette.
It remains to be seen, however, whether the Gunners will be able to tempt Monaco into selling Lemar this summer.
The article also states that Arsenal’s hopes of signing Lemar this summer are likely to rest on how hard the player himself is ready to push for a move to The Emirates.
Arsenal are looking to further bolster their squad as they prepare for the new season as they look to challenge for the title next term.
