With just seven days left to the close of the transfer window, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is yet to make needed signing to our squad, having been linked with a move for defenders and attackers from the open of the window.
However, Wenger is looking to keep the current crop of his world class players for as long as he can. Reports claims Arsenal have offered Chilean international Alexis Sanchez a new two-year extension to his contract which will see him earn an improved £190,000-a-week in wages at Arsenal.
The Chilean who currently earns £130,000-a-week has been linked with a move away from the Emirates following the club’s inability to win the title since his arrival.
Although, the new deal has been offered, but it is yet to be signed by Sanchez, who is expected to extend his stay at the Emirates till 2020.
Sanchez has been playing as a striker since this season began. Wenger claims the Chilean could become the new Luis Suarez.
Sanchez is not the only player offered an extension. The reports claims Mesut Ozil is equally stalling over contract talks with his contract billed to expire in 2018.
Even if Wenger cannot make quality signings in the window, he would rather keep his players than allow them leave.
Sanchez scored 17goals in all competitions for Arsenal last season.
